Arattupuzha sree sastha temple decided to conduct the pooram ceremony as usual in every year with cochin devaswom board. arattupuzha pooram is one of the ancient pooram ceremony in kerala. in 2018 temple authority decided to conduct 1436th pooram.The annual festival start with flag hoisting on friday 2018 march 23. The main high light of pooram ceremony is the participation of other deities from near by places in thrissur district. the deities which attending in pooram festival on last day are choorakode bhagavathy, triprayar tevar, poonilarkavu bhagavathy, urakam amma, kattupisharikkal bhagavathy, cherpu bhagavathy,chakkam kulangara sastha, edakkunny bhagavathy, nettissery sastha etc. 24 deities are take part in the arattupuzha pooram 2018.
The schedule of pooram day commences at sunset with the advent of arattupuzha sastha with enchanting pageant lining up 15 elephants. the deities reach here by following panchari melam. panchari melam is the treat with traditional kerala music instruments. the festival end with after gramabali on the next day after pooram. arattupuzha pooram is also known as deva melam got the name by the participation of the deities from other places. deva sangamam is the ceremony which host after the day of pooram.
Arattupuzha pooram 2018 will held on 15th meenam in malayalam month, on the day of pooram the arrival of goddess from near places called deva mela which is also known as the arrival of gods to earth. after the panchai melam the entire people ready to enjoy the visual; treat of fire works. vedikkettu and kudamattam are the essential part of pooram festival. lord sastha as the prime deity of arattupuzha temple going to the procession through the paddy field, which paddy field is termed as 7th paddy field. sasthavinte melam and devasangamam are another two main events of pooram which closely associate with deva sangamam.
