Ilanji murugan temple is a popular subrahmanuan temple in tamilnadu located at the foot of kutralam hills and at the banks of chithra river. lord shiva is one of the principal deity at the temple , lord shiva is worshiped in the form of the shivalingam which is made with pure white sand, it is believed that this white sand idol made and installed by sage agsthya here. ilanji murugan temple located at ilanji city in thirunelveli district, tamil nadu. lord muruga is the moolavar or prime deity. milk abhisheka is the main offering at the temple. the idol of peacock which is the vahana of lord muruga installed in the temple with lord muruga.
