Yadagirigutta Temple is one of the popular temples inn Telangana which is an abode of lord narasimha which is the incarnation of lord vishnu, according to hindu legends lord narasimha is the fourth incarnation of lord vishnu to maintain peace on earth. it is the ferocious one of lord vishnu. the temple is lies on a hill rock. This cave temple is situated about 300 feet from the ground level.
The temple has five postures of narasimha, according to hindu mythology the saint Yadava had performed great penance for lord narasimha swamy, after his penance lord narasimha appeared infront of yadava, before that he took five avatars known as jwala narasimha, yoganada narasimha, ugra narasimha, gandaberunda narasimha and lakshmi narasimha. later it known as panchanarasimha temple. Yadagirigutta Temple is the self manifested temple accrding to skanda purana.
There are three natural rock formations in the temple , jwala narasimha as serpant and as the meditation posture. ghandaberanda narasimha as the formless manifestation. ugra narasimha swami here in the form of cave entrance. the silver idol of lakshmi narayana represents the kalyana and vaidya form here.
there are three timings in the temple, the first is morning schedule start at 7.15 to 11.30 am, the second one is afternoon hours which is 12.30 pm to 3. pm. the final is at evening start at 5.00 pm and close the temple after the final rituals at 9.00 pm.
